PrepLark Privacy Policy

Who we are: PrepLark is made by Hub Builds LLC, a Missouri limited liability company. "We," "us" and "our" mean Hub Builds LLC.

The short version
- PrepLark is for parents and guardians. A parent signs up, tells us about their kid, and forwards school emails. We turn those emails into one short daily plan for the kid and one clear update for the parent.
- We never sell your family's data, never show ads, and never use your family's data for advertising or profiling.
- Grades, scores and missing work go only to parents, never into the kid's plan.
- We keep raw school emails for 90 days and school items and plans for 1 year. You can delete everything at any time from the app, in one step.
- A small number of service providers help us run PrepLark (listed below). They may only use your data to provide their service to us.
Who PrepLark is for
PrepLark is for parents and legal guardians of students in grades 6 to 12. Kids do not create accounts. The parent provides all information about their child and decides where the child's daily plan is sent. Before we collect any information about a child, the parent must confirm they are the child's parent or guardian and give consent (see "Parental consent" below).
What we collect
From you, the parent
- Your name and email address (to create your account and sign you in with a one-time code).
- How you'd like to sign the daily plan (for example, "Mom & Dad").
- Your consent record: which version of these terms you agreed to, and when.
If you request an invite on preplark.com
- Your name, email address and your kids' grades, plus your school and a note if you choose to add them. We don't ask for your kids' names.
- We use this only to invite you to PrepLark and to understand which schools families come from. To have it deleted, email privacy@preplark.com.
About your child, from you
- First name and grade. We don't ask for last name, birthdate, home address or photos.
- School email domain, bell and lunch times, class schedule, and teacher and coach names and email addresses.
- Optional: interests (for the daily fun fact) and a daily habit.
- The email address where the child's daily plan should go, which you choose and approve.
School emails you forward
- The emails you forward to your family's PrepLark address, or that your email filter forwards automatically: sender, subject and text. These can include information about your child, such as assignments, test dates, events and grades.
- We only receive emails sent to your PrepLark address. We never connect to or read your email account.
Notes you send Hub
- Messages you write to Hub, PrepLark's assistant, in the app or by email (for example "Sam's sick tomorrow" or "what's due this week?").
- What Hub keeps from them: days a plan is paused, short notes you want in your kid's plan, topics you asked to leave out of your updates, and general notes. Hub only writes back to you; it never contacts your school or anyone else.
- Draft emails to teachers. When you ask (or on a sick day, or when work shows up missing), Hub writes a short draft email to one of your kid's teachers, using the teacher names and addresses you entered. Hub sends the draft only to you, with a button that opens it in your own email app. Nothing goes to the teacher unless you send it yourself. We don't keep drafts apart from Hub's email to you.
What we create
- School items (tests, assignments, events, forms, schedule changes, grade alerts) pulled from those emails, each linked to the email it came from.
- The daily plans and parent updates we send, and whether each was delivered.
- A follow-up list of forms and missing work, so Hub can remind you once and tell you when something is done.
- A Sunday "week ahead" email for parents, and a record that it was sent.
- Your family's private calendar link. Each family gets a calendar address containing a long random code, so you can add school dates to Google, Apple or Outlook calendar. Anyone who has the link can see the calendar, which can include grade alerts and missing work, so keep it to yourself. Your calendar app fetches it from our servers every few hours. You can make a new link in the app at any time, which turns the old one off.
Technical information
- Sign-in records kept by our authentication provider, and basic service logs that record that something happened (for example, "1 email processed"), not the contents of your emails.
We do not collect your location, contacts, or device advertising identifiers.
How we use it
Only to run PrepLark for your family:
- to recognize which school emails are trustworthy and pull out dates and tasks,
- to build and send your child's daily plan and your parent updates,
- to keep the service working, secure and reliable, and to answer your questions.
We do not:
- sell or rent personal information,
- show ads or allow ad tracking,
- use your family's data to build advertising profiles,
- use your family's data to train AI models, or let our AI providers use it to train theirs.

These providers process data on our behalf, under their terms with us, and may not use it for their own purposes. Our database is located in the United States.
We share information otherwise only:
- if required by law or to protect someone's safety, or
- if Hub Builds LLC is sold or merged, in which case this policy's protections continue to apply and we will tell you before your information is used under any different policy.
Kids' information and parental consent
- A parent must confirm they are the child's parent or legal guardian and consent before we collect the child's information.
- The parent can review, correct or delete the child's information at any time in the app, and can withdraw consent by deleting the family. We then stop collecting and delete the child's information.
- We collect only what's needed to make the daily plan.
- Kid-facing plans never include grades, scores, missing work or warnings.
How long we keep it

Your choices and rights
- See and edit your family's information in the app.
- Delete everything with "Delete all my family's data" in the app.
- Stop forwarding at any time by removing your email filter.
- Ask us to access, correct or delete information: privacy@preplark.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law. Email privacy@preplark.com to use them.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Our database enforces that each parent can only see their own family's information. Only the servers that run PrepLark can write school data. Access by our team is limited to what's needed to operate and support the service. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information, we'll notify you as the law requires.
Changes
If we make material changes, we'll tell you by email or in the app before they take effect, and ask for consent again where the law requires it.
